Greetings Participants,
It is with great honor that we the Secretariat, along with the organising committee welcome you to Delhi Private School-Dubai's 5th annual Inter House Model United Nations conference. This year IHMUN conference will see over 120 delegates across grades 9-12 debating intensively on issues related to the Sustainable Development Goals and the Panama Papers leak.
Staying true to Delhi Private School-Dubai's theme for the current academic year "Security", the theme for IHMUN 2016 is Pursuing Utopia - Ensuring Global Security. Security as defined by the Merriam webster online dictionary is "The state of being protected and safe from harm" and is among the basic rights guaranteed by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. With over 60 million refugees across the globe, it would not be true to say that every individual on the planet has availed the Right to Securiy. As a result, to achieve a state of global Utopia it is imperative that we discuss the issue of Security across its various aspects.
This year IHMUN conference shall feature a new committee, the International Court of Justice where the advocates will engage in heated debates to settle cases and resolve controversial issues. All in all we would like to remind every delegate advocate and participant to remain calm, composed and most importantly confident.
